Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Review

Considering that we enjoy taking a swim in the pool during this hot, muggy weather, we decided to take another staycation here in Qatar because we have another set of free days. We limited our search to hotels in the area and chose the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha as our place to stay.

The City Center Mall in Doha is immediately attached to this 5-star luxurious hotel, which features spacious rooms and suites. The luxurious rooms of Marriott Marquis City Center Doha come equipped with a minibar, a tea/coffee maker, and a view of the Arabian Sea and Doha’s skylines. Each includes a desk and a secure vault for laptops. The private bathroom has a hairdryer, amenities, and a bathrobe.

Brazilian and Italian food are served at the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha. A sizable Champions sports bar with private TV rooms exists. Additionally, there is a pool snack bar and a Glo Bar that offers a wide selection of unique cocktails. Moreover, they have Aziza and Shisha Lounge, which provide Arabic food in a classic setting.

A sizable sun patio and an outdoor pool with Olympic size are provided by this property. On the 44th story, which has breathtaking views of Doha, there is also an indoor heated pool. The Saray Spa offers massages and aesthetic services, and visitors may work out in the fitness facility with a personal trainer.

Despite frequently passing by the Marriott Marquis in the downtown, this is our first time checking in there. I wasn’t astounded by their entrance after I got out of the cab. I initially thought the building was dark, but that quickly changed once I stepped inside. Their spacious, stylish lobby, which was staffed with kind people, caught me off guard. Actually, they also provided Patchi chocolates to their visitors at that time, and Patchi chocolates are very pricey in Qatar. Additionally, you may choose between warm or cold water. I instantly felt at ease since the staff is very kind.

They have a piano in their lobby that, according to the receptionist, is always performed by a professional pianist to make their visitors feel at home and comfortable. Their pianist is excellent, and you will feel as if you are at a 5-star hotel.

We picked their basic room after checking in. Unlike the other rooms, this one is somewhat austere. It’s not that little, but it’s quite lovely. The completeness of the kits within the room astounded me. There is no need to call for amenities, slippers, or water. I was also pleased that combs, toothbrushes, and haircaps were already included because we brought our own, because when we checked in at other hotels here, those were not included and we had to request them, which would take a long time, so I am grateful that Marriott Marquis included them in the toiletries. That allowed them to save a significant amount of time and effort. The absence of a bidet in the toilet was the only fault I could see, but they still made sure we had enough tissues and a water supply from the sink just in case.

Along with their many tea and coffee options, I really adored their shampoos and conditioners. Bar soap, hand wash gel, and body wash gel are also available. Unlike others, which have simply the facial soap accessible and may be used for all purposes.

Although the hotel is located in the center of Qatar’s bustling metropolis, the view from the rooms we have occupied is tranquil. My accommodation had a magnificent view of the Corniche and the Sheraton Hotel.

I especially admired how well-kept and expertly decorated their rooms are. I had my own office desk in this room, so I had the distinct impression that I was on a business-related vacation. I wanted to stay in this place for additional days because I felt so at ease here. The one thing I did notice was that there isn’t an electrical outlet on the nightstand, so if your phone is about to run out of power, you can’t use it while it charges because the only electrical outlets are next to the TV.

I particularly liked how they valued strict adherence to the rules about mask use and hand washing. On the table, they have their adorable “We Care Kit,” which includes hand gels, wipes, and one mask. Even though having two sets of masks would be much preferable, especially if there are two persons in the room, they at least care to provide this package.

The pool there is open from 6 am to 8 pm. In their pool, we had a great time swimming. We arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled closing time, but we still had a great time. The next day, we had intended to go swimming earlier, but we canceled it due to the 39-degree heat and humidity. Instead, we savored the complimentary breakfast buffet.

When it comes to my stay at the Marriott Marquis, I am really pleased. For me, it genuinely is a 5-star hotel. From the service to the amenities, I cannot compare them to other hotels I’ve stayed at here in Doha; this hotel is far superior. I suggest this hotel to those searching for a wonderful stay in Doha as well as those looking for a basic yet memorable stay.

My Overall Rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
