Breaking My Shelf With Books: Book Haul #02 (The Wicked Series)

The tale is told as if it’s happening once upon a dream: the lovely maiden meets her handsome prince. The kiss that breaks the evil curse. The kingdom rejoices for the magic that love can bring…”

The narrative has been recounted several times and in numerous ways. But what if that once-upon-a-dream did not turn out to be the best happily ever after?

I’ve always loved reading fairytales and watching Disney movies, seeing myself as a princess, which is every girl’s fantasy. I’m hoping to visit a real castle someday while dancing with my prince charming.

Most of us are simply interested in reading about all of the princes and princesses’ lives. We are easily angered by villains, believing that they only want to ruin other people’s happy ever afters, but isn’t it intriguing to discover why they become that way? What were their reasons for leading the life they did? So when I came upon this book by chance while browsing for freshly published books online, I became frantic and purchased it without hesitation. I went to Amazon online, clicked buy, and presto! Serena Valentino’s A Wicked Collection was delivered to me.

Serena Valentino wrote 7 novels for the Wicked Collection. Here are the title of the novels included in this collection. I’ve got the 6 novels, the latest one was just released and I can’t contain myself to purchase it.

  • Fairest of All: A Tale of The Wicked Queen…

For anyone who has seen Walt Disney’s Snow White, we are all familiar to her evil step mom, The Evil Queen. Now, for the first time, we will enter the life of the Wicked Queen and find out just what it is that makes her evil. We will know everything including her creepy magic mirror which has something to do with the Queen’s wicked ways.

  • The Beast Within : A Tale of Beauty’s Prince…

Few have seen the prince A that sits alone in a secluded castle. But how did this prince, once charming and beloved by people, come to be a wild and hairy beast? In this story we can find out how and why it happened to him and is it possible that he can ever find true love and break the curse that has been placed upon him?

  • Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale Of A Sea Witch…

In this novel, we will know what led Ursula became so twisted, scorned, and filled with hatred? Many tales have tried to explain her motives. In this, we will know what might have shaped the sea witch into a poor unfortunate soul.

  • Mistress Of All Evil: A Tale Of A Dark Fairy…

Almost all of us are aware of the life of Maleficent, based on Disney movie. In this again, we will deeply know why she cursed the innocent princess? What led to her becoming so filled with malice, anger, and hatred? It is a tale of love and betrayal, of magic and reveries.

  • Mother Knows Best: A Tale Of The Old Witch…

The fifth novel of Valentino’s Villains series retells the story of Mother Gothel, the old witch who kept Rapunzel in a tower. Here is one version of the story that has remained untold for centuries–a tale of mothers and daughters, youth and dark magic.

  • The Odd Sisters: A Villains Novel…

Throughout the book series, we will discover the Odd Sisters who meddled in the lives of the Wicked Queen, The Beast, Ursula, Maleficent, and Mother Gothel, changing the course of fate for the greatest villains ever known. In this latest novel, the author goes deeper into the lives of the twisted Odd Sisters, finally revealing the dark truth about who they are and where they’re from.

  • Evil Thing: A Tale of Cruella De Vil…

From her lonely childhood, to her iconic fashion choices, to that fateful car crash (you know the one), Cruella tells all in this marvelous memoir of a woman doomed. Even the cruelest villains have best friends, true loves, and daring dreams. Now it’s Cruella’s turn to share hers.

As an enthusiastic reader of fairytales, I am really pleased about my purchase after reading all of those synopses. I want to know their dark secrets, the history they’re attempting to forget, and the love they’re attempting to find. So now I’ll know not just the stories of princes and princesses, but also the stories behind the villain’s nefarious plots.
